I subscribe to this service that sends a new word to me everyday. This week all the words are edible!! The first word of the week is: salmagundi (sal-muh-GUNH-dee).

2. A mixed salad of ingredients such as meat, eggs, almonds, oil, vinegar, etc.

etymology:

From French (salmagondis)- maybe a mixture of the word salami and condis meaning to season.
