
How many calories does that frappuccino have? If you already know the answer, you can stop reading here, otherwise keep going. If you go to your favorite coffee place (my addiction is my Starbucks) and order coffee with some milk and a little sugar or Splenda, that's probably not a lot of calories. BUT if you are ordering a caramel frappuccino, know that a grande (16 0z) has 380 calories with 15 grams of fat and 50 grams of sugar. Yes 50 grams! If you order a large (venti), you have just consumed 500 calories which has 68 grams of sugar.
A chocolate smoothie at Starbucks which has whey protein, fiber and a whole banana in it has 270 calories with 30 grams of sugar. This drink has protein and fruit in it but you can get the protein and the fruit in far fewer calories.
So bottom line, if you are having coffee, stick with basic ingredients such as the coffee and milk and a little of whatever sweetener you like. The more fancier it is, the more wasteful or is it WAISTFUL?
