Trying To Lose Weight? Follow These Three Rules

1.  Cut down on alcohol.  Alcohol gets detoxified in the liver and a chemical (acetate).  This compound prevents fat from being oxidized and used for energy.  In addition, because the liver is trying to detoxify the alcohol, the sugar from it is used first for energy which means anything else that has sugar in the meal, if it is not used, the sugar will be stored as fat.

2.  Anything in the grocery store that says 'multi-grain'.  Don't be fooled by this label.  It's a synonym for processed carbs.  Instead choose 'whole grain'.

3.  If you are  truly serious about losing weight, then you should stay away from most carbs that come in any shape of bread, rice, pasta, etc.  Here is why...

Fat molecules are triglycerides.  A triglyceride gets its name because it has a glycerol backbone and     three chains of fat molecule are attached to this glycerol molecule.  The glycerol comes from sugar molecules.  And although the body can make glycerol from other compounds in the body, using glycerol is the preferred method.  So when you decrease the supply of sugar, hence the supply of glycerol, fat deposition is also reduced.
