Here is a list of my favorite exercises:

1. Pushups- muscles worked: chest (pectoralis), shoulders (deltoids), back of arms (triceps), biceps are the stabilizers. Pushups also work you core muscles.

2. Pullups/chinups- muscles worked during pullups (palms facing away from you): lattissimus, trapezius, and secondarily biceps- muscles worked during chinups (palms facing you)- muscles worked are biceps and secondarily the back muscles.


3. Lunges- either stationary lunges or walking lunges- Muscles worked as I have mentioned before about this exercise- quads, hamstrings and if you lift your heel off the floor a couple of inches, your calf muscle will also be engages.

4. Lunges simultaneous with bicep curls or shoulder press- You can figure this one out! This is an awesome exercise that works your lower and upper body muscles- these types of exercises are generally referred to as compound exercises.

There are a ton of exercises out there that I really like and I try not to have two similar workouts back to back. However I still come back to these four. These are specially great when you are travelling and don't have access to a gym. You can do pushups and lunges anywhere. Say you are staying at a hotel on the third floor. Doing stairs can be your cardio workout and then add a few sets of pushups and lunges and you can have a great workout!
