Bad Science... Good Food

The prominent British journal Lancet retracted the 1998 paper linking vaccines and autism. Dr. Andrew Wakefield contended for years that his research showed that the combined vaccine of measles, mumps and rubella is unsafe. A British medical panel concluded last week that Dr. Wakefield had been dishonest, violated basic research ethic rules and showed a "callous disregard" for the suffering of children involved in his research. Dr. Wakefield is part of a small but fervent group of doctors who discourage vaccinations because of a seeming link with autism.

On to one of my favorite authors, Michael Pollan. His new book 'Food Rules' is out. And here is one of my favorite rules:

If it came from a plant, eat it. If it was made in a plant, don't.

And another one that I really like is just one word: COOK! The only way you can have control of the sugar, fat, preservatives, and most ingredients that you may not be able to pronounce, is to cook the food yourself.

also... have you seen the yogurt that says 'fruit on the bottom'? It really should be 'sugar on the bottom'. Would you still buy it?
