Foods That Are Healthy But...

 1. Granola- Good food but it is highly caloric and many times it is loaded with sugar- so watch the amount of the granola you consume and have a measuring cup handy.

2. Dried fruit- Don't be fooled into thinking this is as healthy for you as its fresh counter part.  Gram for gram it is almost six times more caloric than the fresh kind because as water is removed, the food becomes denser and therefore more caloric.  A cup of grapes has 60 calories, but eat a cup of raisins...500 calories!!

3. Tofu-But wait a minutes, Yes I did tell you it's really good and very healthy for you, but that is only if you make it at home- most Chinese restaurants deep fry tofu and so the result is food that is laden with fat, drenched in an unknown sauce, and very high in calories.

4. Orange Juice- I think this is my favorite in the category of 'good food that may be bad for you'.  It does have vitamin C and many varieties are fortified with calcium but a cup has almost 40 grams of carbohydrates.

5. Salads in restaurants that all you see on top are croutons, bacon, dried fruit and cheese.  Underneath all that is... yes you guessed it iceberg lettuce.  This salad is as healthy as fish and chips.

6. Dark chocolate- yes it is good for you and it has antioxidants BUT it is also very high in calories and fat and sugar.  So if you can, only have a little bit, if you can't do it, then don't even buy it!!

7. Nuts are excellent source of protein, and fiber but again HIGHLY caloric.  If you eat only 10 Brazil nuts you have will have consumed more than 200 calories.  And who can stop at 10??

8. Avocado- Excellent source of vitamin E but a medium one has almost 200 calories.
